After receiving some requests from the Android developer community to release the earlier version of the JB software for the developers, Sony Mobile has recently released the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean alpha ROM for the Sony Xperia T. Although it took a year to upgrade to Jelly Bean, since the last year ICS alpha release. As far as the model number is concerned, then the upgrade will prefer best for LT30p. However, Sony claims that there are several limitations in the alpha software User Interface, so the things are expected to change in the final Sony Jelly Bean software.
Some of the features are disabled or not working in this alpha ROM which includes the Google Mobile Services (GMS) apps, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, FM Radio and NFC. Also, the modem is disabled and therefore the SIM card will not be recognized, which means users can't make phone calls. This means that Jelly Bean alpha ROM is made available to target the advanced developer, and not for the daily usage. So, those of you who have the unlocked Xperia T will only be able to use the Jelly Bean alpha ROM, as the update can be installed using Sony's flash tool. Stay tuned for more updates.
