Lenovo has recently launched its first Chromebook, the ThinkPad X131e especially for the students studying in kindergarten through 12th grade. This is the first time Lenovo has used the Chrome OS instead of the user-likely Windows OS in its ultraportable laptop, the ThinkPad X131e. Powered by Intel processor, the Lenovo ThinkPad X131e Chromebook features an 11.6-inch anti-glare display with a 1366x768 resolution. Other features comprises of a 6 cell battery that last a day, and set of ports such as VGA and HDMI ports, and three USB ports.
As far its design is concerned, the Lenovo ThinkPad X131e features a rugged design including a rubber bumper around the top cover, and sturdy hinges and corners that have been designed to withstand the rigors of use in the classrooms. The Chromebook designed for schools offers simplified software and security features for students, teachers and administrators in school, allowing access to numerous of apps, education resources, and providing a sufficient storage for documents at school.
Lenovo claims that the ThinkPad Chromebook will be available for purchase from February, 26th, but they haven't disclose the pricing yet. However, the sources at Google says that the ThinkPad Chromebook will be available for $429, with an option for schools to sign-up for support from Google for a one-time price of $30 per device.
