Earlier in December, Facebook started the test of a new messaging system which will allow anyone to message any other person's inbox at a one-time fee of $1. However, it was denied by some users and was considered as spam. So, we were already aware of the Facebook new revenue streams, but we were unaware that we would see a situation in which we have to pay the price point of $100. As noticed by a Tech website, Mashable that sending a message to the Facebook Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg will charge you $100.
Well, according the test by the fellow folks at Mashable, users can get this message only if they are not one of the Zuckerberg's 16 million followers. However, the folks are not pretty sure as it could be coincidental. Not only that, Facebook has an "Other" inbox too which will store the messages that Facebook thinks you won't like to read urgently. That means any message from strangers or from other pages or if a user wants to message about the job opportunity, then this feature will prove helpful. However, when asked to Facebook the reason behind $100 charge, a Facebook spokesperson said that they are testing the extreme price points in order to see what works to filter spam. Stay tuned for more updates.
